Sometimes called the Penny Whistle, Tin Whistle or Irish Whistle.
The basic whistle for Celtic music is in the key of D.
"I originally started selling whistles as a compliment to our harp department. Then things got out of hand. I fell in love with whistles. You can get a good one for less than the price of an ok lunch and a great one for a couple of hundred bucks. You can carry it any where. You can learn simple tunes and entertain yourself fairly quickly or you can work on it forever and never run out of challenges. Enjoy!" –David Kolacny
Better whistles have mouthpieces that are machined from solid stock rather than molded. This gives the whistle maker more control over the interior dimensions. Whistle makers also work with different body materials to change the resistance and tone.
